Callubri Station is excited to collaborate with renowned photographer Nilmini De Silva to offer an Outback Station Stay and Photography Retreat like no other! Nilmini De Silva is a Grand Master of the Australian Photography Society and an international award winning photographer from Sydney. Nilmini shoots all genres but is especially drawn to photographing the natural world through landscapes and aerial abstracts.
This retreat is designed to guide your creative intent and express your passion through photography. Refine your technical skills whilst immersed in the beauty of the Australian outback! Join us for four days and three nights of gourmet food and wine, inspired conversation and immersive workshops with like-minded explorers and photographers!
PHOTOGRAPHY HIGHLIGHTS
Ancient waterways including the Bogan River, cropping and sheep, wildlife, rural landscapes and endless horizons, Explore original log cabins (pre 1890), pioneering buildings including the historic shearing shed, rustic farm antiques and the ‘car graveyard’. Immerse yourself in the wildflowers, painted sunrise, endless sunsets and dark sky astrophotography.
** Please note due to the timing of this retreat commercial shearing will not form part of our program however we will have a portrait session in the original woolshed.
STATION HIGHLIGHTS
Indulge in paddock to plate dining using home grown and local ingredients with The Cocky’s Wife Catering. Stay overnight in our luxury ‘converted- container’ accommodation. Enjoy a secluded pine forest picnic, canapes at The Lookout at golden hour, and marshmallow toasting over a fire under the stars!

WHO THIS RETREAT IS FOR
This retreat is perfect for someone who is familiar with navigating their camera. You will get the most out of this workshop if you have an idea of how the exposure triangle works and can adjust Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed in your camera. If all this is new to you, then it is advised that you download and read A Guide to Mastering the Basics prior to coming to the retreat.
To get the most out of this retreat we recommend guests have a moderate level of fitness and mobility. There will be some walking around the property, getting in and out of vehicles but nothing too strenuous!

Camera—whatever camera you have and your camera manual
Lenses—whatever you have. There are opportunities for landscape & night photography (16-35mm, 24-105mm) wildlife (70-200mm or 100-400mm) and portrait (a prime lens such as a 85mm) as well as a macro lens.
Filters—If you have them. CPL, ND and/or IR
Camera Remote— useful for long exposures or night photography but you can also use your in-built features in camera
Spare memory cards and camera batteries
Tripod—essential for night photography and long exposures
