With a maximum of just 14 guests on the property at any one time, Callubri Station offers something increasingly rare in today’s luxury travel landscape; genuine exclusivity paired with deeply personal hosting. As an owner-operated and family-run property, this is not a large-scale lodge with layers of management and rotating staff. It is a private country homestead on a vast working station, where every stay is shaped by the people who live and breathe life on the land.
At the heart of the Callubri experience are owners Angie and Michael Armstrong. As owner-operated directors of the station, they are also your personal hosts; engaged and invested in every guest experience. Their shared passion for good food, outback landscapes, and authentic rural life forms the foundation of the unique experience they offer. Together, they create a seamless blend of “city meets country”, refined yet relaxed, polished yet unpretentious.

Mike is a fourth-generation custodian of this 28,500-acre owner-operated RWS accredited Merino sheep and wheat station. His knowledge of the land moves beyond what he has learned from books. With a graduate degree in Agri-Finance, his knowledge may have it’s foundation in academic principles but it has been shaped by a lifetime of seasons, stories, challenges, and triumphs. More than our fair share, some would claim, but that is farming!
A farm tour with Mike is not a scripted activity for the tourists, it is genuine invitation to experience daily station life as it stands. Guests travel in rustic comfort aboard the station “troopie,” map in hand, and perhaps accompanied by a kelpie or two. Along the way, there might be a stop for homemade smoko, fresh from The Cocky’s Wife kitchen, enjoyed under the vast outback skies. It is relaxed, personal, and quietly unforgettable.
Angie brings a complementary warmth and creativity to the hosting experience. Raised on a family farm in the Yarra Valley and surrounded by the culinary energy of Melbourne, she developed a deep appreciation for both provenance and flavour. As a professional caterer, Angie believes hospitality begins at the table. Every dish she prepares reflects her passion for seasonal produce, bold yet balanced flavours, and the simple pleasure of gathering people together. Her paddock-to-plate dining experiences showcase organic produce grown at the homestead alongside carefully sourced regional ingredients. Meals are not just served, they are shared, often accompanied by stories, laughter, and the kind of easy conversation that happens when guests feel completely at home.
Supporting Angie and Michael is a small, dedicated team who share their commitment to personalised service. Their staff team hails from all corners of the globe. From just down the highway in Dubbo, to as far flung as Ireland, they are all proud to call this patch of red dirt home. What unites this tight knit team is their passion for the land, community and building a shared understanding through tourism and hospitality.
With only a select number of guests at any one time, the team has the capacity to know each visitor by name, understand their preferences, and anticipate their needs. Whether it is arranging a surprise birthday dinner under the stars, preparing a favourite morning coffee just the way you like it, or tailoring an itinerary around individual interests, service at Callubri Station is intuitive rather than transactional.
The luxury here lies not in excess, but in intention. It is found in the quiet attention to detail, the generous sharing of stories, and the genuine warmth that comes from being welcomed into a family-run property. Guests are not treated as room numbers, they are treated as invited friends. Every stay is thoughtfully crafted, whether you seek adventure, relaxation, culinary indulgence, or simply time to reconnect with the land and each other.
At Callubri Station, hospitality is personal, immersive, and heartfelt. It is a place where owners host with pride, where a small team delivers with care, and where exclusivity ensures every guest experience feels considered and special.
We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
